Just looking for some advice for purchasing a box pusher for my skidsteer. I have a cat 246b (7100lbs). I have mostly used it for pulling parking stalls/small areas for the bigger loaders but it looks like some medium/smaller lots might come through this year that are a pain to do with the larger loaders. An 1850 ROC machine with good tires will run a 10 foot box. Dedicated snow tires help, but we've run Arctic boxes for several years on regular skid tires. A lot of this equation depends on the box you want. Now my 11ft box on a Ag tractor It will do a acre in 40mins at 6'' of snow pushing one way Never check it at stacking at both ends Now on my Skid with 7.5 box I have 3 lots in line total of 1.4 acres and the skid its self can do all 3 in 1 hr .
I know it will shine in areas like the 1000 foot drive especially in deeper snows because it can throw snow to the sides unlike the skid steer that has to stop, move to the side of the pile then push it off the drive. Last year we also had 3 or 4 inch snow then rain right on top of it, I gambled that the rain would melt the snow and lost.

The skid steer blower doesn't plug up as much either. We usually meet up with the two machines (tractor and skid) at the end of both routes at a set of condo type driveways (doubles and singles). The skid does about 5 driveways in the same time it takes the tractor to do 2, and the guy on the tractor is more experienced than the guy on the skid .
