Also another good feature of the Cat is the reach it has ( with the bucket angled down). I have just recently purchased a CAT 257B primarily for farm use. I bought it mostly for its ability to handle very muddy terrain. I will have a much better idea as how well I like this machine in a few weeks. I wish they would put a motor with a little more jam in the 257, it probably feels plenty potent in the 247, but the 257 got even heavier this past year and the horses never followed. the U/C looks much improved and the fit and finish inside is great.
