I shopped for over a year and ended up getting a LB 330 (40 ton) excavator with thumb, Cat D4H dozer, a Cat 933 track loader and a single axle dump. If you are serious about clearing large trees or moving any amount of dirt, you need something bigger than a 6 ton excavator and you will be surprised how much you will use a dump truck. Keep your day job. Do small jobs from there. Then get a used dump trailer, mini skidsteer etc. You should have half day min of 0-0. Don't buy new. Don't get a loan over ,000.
