using a mini excavator dozer blade I have a brushy (low field brush/weeds, nothing major) area I want to "plow" a walking path/small road through. I'd say about 50-75 yards long. Would a mini ex blade be appropriate (or at least work) for that job? Not sure how much dozer work that blade can handle. Needed a cement mixer and the ability to pour concrete in a difficult place. Had seen a number of designs on Youtube using this type of principle. Didn't hav.

Excavator dozer blades perform similarly to a standard dozer or skidsteer, allowing you to push and level materials. The ability to combine finishing and digging jobs into one machine increases your job efficiency and reduces the requirement to switch between machines. https://www.volvoce.com/united-states/en-us/products/excavators/compact/ Our Compact Excavators Product Manager, John Comrie, shows us how to use the dozer .Excavator dozer blades perform similarly to a standard dozer or skidsteer, allowing you to push and level materials. Leveling Blade Usage. The leveling blade or dozer blade stabilizes the excavator while grading. Lower it just enough to raise track pads off the ground for a solid, stationary base. Adjust occasionally to accommodate changing terrain as the bucket levels sections ahead of the tracks. Leveling Techniques Step-By-Step The larger handle is the front blade (or dozer blade) control. Pulling this lever raises the blade, pushing the handle lowers it. The blade can be used for grading, pushing debris, or filling holes, just like a bulldozer on a very small scale, but is also used to stabilize the machine while digging with the hoe.The dozer blade will automatically float above the surface to allow for smooth back grading. The dozer blade with float functionality provides the operator with more versatility and speed as the excavator can clear and grade in one fluid motion. If you’re operating a mini excavator, retract the dozer blade. Adjust the throttle to the desired speed. Use the track pedals to drive the excavator. Press both pedals forward to move ahead; apply pressure to the back of both pedals to reverse. Push the right pedal to turn right and on the left to turn left. Digging with an excavator
Use the dozer blade control lever to make it go up or down accordingly. The green button is the rabbit button or the second speed to go a little bit faster so the machine will go fast in a straight line but it doesn’t turn very well. It also helps the machine stabilise on an uneven ground. Ensure loads stay centered directly underneath the excavator boom and use the dozer blade to bolster a secure stance on-site terrain. Avoid digging on excessively uneven, sloped or unstable ground. Consider smaller passes or repositioning machines for increased stability when necessary.
Ubiquitous on mini-excavators, dozer blades for backfilling and grading have crept up to the medium 20,000- to 40,000-pound excavator size class. As in other machine categories, operators have been asking for increased versatility, hence the blade option.Excavator dozer blades perform similarly to a standard dozer or skidsteer, allowing you to push and level materials.
