Our JD 240 won't even think about starting when its below freezing; I was under the impression it had glow plugs but it still won't hardly even turn over more than a few times. I haven't seen a plug for a heater so I assume they're not all factory equipped?

We are thinking of installing an engine block heater on our JD 7775 skid steer and are not sure which is the best route. We had a cheapo dipstick unit in last year that barely lasted the season only because the dealer didn't have time to install the block type unit. If it's a Deutz engine, it's on the oil pan behind the starter, if it has one. Sometimes the cord is wrapped up and hidden in there, never used. If it's a Kubota-not sure-I think it's on the head, a freeze plug style.
