My 328D john deere skid steer continually has the words on the EMU display "Engine Derate 99%" it comes on after about 5 minutes running even without load. I noticed my coolant level was low. Anybody go through this and know the solution.The battery started the skid steer fine tonight. I measured the voltage at the alternator at idle and then about 2000-rpm and that measured 12 volts too. It immediately started to derate and after a few minutes of operation the low voltage light illuminated and beeped. I can start the engine and operates normal for a few minutes then it gradually decreases in power, from 100% to 90% to 80% and so on. Have changed fuel and air filters a couple fuel lines. Cleaned and flushed fuel tank and changed pickups.
It has went into derate mode due to codes DCU 3515.04 and 523636.00. the way I understand it, it's DEF system sensor value circuit fault. Has anyone had any experience with this problem? Dealer says it's not getting proper signal from the DEF tank header assembly. There are many reasons possible for engine derating. Did the dealer connect a computer and check codes? A code should be stored that will point you in the right direction. A user asks for help with a 2010 JD 319d that throws low fuel pressure codes and derates the engine. Other users suggest possible causes and solutions, such as fuel filter, pump, sensor, and injector issues.
North branch MI: I worked on 328d with the same codes and less than 200hrs on the machine and it was the lift pump I think it was less than 100$ for the pump just a tight squeeze to get at I put in a electric inline pump just to test the plumbing in the tank and it run fine that way
