I have a slight issue with my steering in my 65. I rebuilded the power steering and only adjusted the old Steering box to get out the play. I also rebuilded/replaced the hole . Mustang used to have their own style single pin quick attach that nothing else fit. I would also suggest going up a size to a 1000 or preferably a 1300 lb. rated capacity skid steer. .

Try replacing the safety rocker switch (upper right). Or you could disable the peddle locks all together. Each spool has an operating rod for the lock out. Remove the solenoids and access the push rods.
